What is HPV?

Human Papilloma Virus or HPV is an infection that can spread through skin to skin contact. There are over 100 variants of HPV and some of it can be transmitted through sexual contact like vaginal, anal and oral (intercourse is not necessary for the transmission) and can affect the genitals, mouth or throat.


This is an extremely common infection and it is believed that most people who are sexually active are exposed to it.
