What is GBV?

Gender based violence or GBV is a reality that is deeply rooting in gender inequality. Considered as a significant human rights issue, it is an act of violence based on an individual's gender. GBV is experienced by all genders however, it is disproportionately experienced by women and the LGBTQIA+ community.
