What is thrush?

Vaginal thrush is an infection caused by an overgrowth of a specific type of yeast which is usually present in the bowels and in the vagina. Symptoms can include vaginal itching or burning, a white discharge, and stinging or burning while urinating. Thrush is not a sexually transmitted disease.

It can occur due to various reasons including changes in hormones which can take place during pregnancy, or antibiotics usage.

Treatment includes anti-fungal creams or tablets.
