Who is a transgender person?

Transgender is a gender identity. At birth, every individual is assigned a sex based on the genitals they are born with. You are either assigned male (AMAB) or female at birth (AFAB). When a person does not resonate with the gender identity assigned at birth, they identify as transgender or trans.
